Supervised Summer Open Play Sessions

We are continually evaluating our programming to ensure we provide the best possible experiences for our members by expanding what is most successful and adjusting offerings with lower participation.

Our most popular supervised pickleball Open Play sessions—Wednesday Evening Men’s Open Play, Thursday Morning Women’s Open Play, and Saturday Morning Pickleball 101 Open Play—have consistently seen strong participation and will continue without any changes.

The level-based pickleball Open Play sessions, however, have not experienced the same level of attendance. These sessions will continue, but the number of reserved courts will be reduced from four courts to two, and they will become unsupervised, with no professional pickleball staff present.

This change allows our professionals to focus on adding more of the programming our members enjoy most. We are excited to introduce:

Men’s Open Play: Wednesdays, 8–9:30 am (Courts 9-12)
Women’s Open Play: Tuesdays, 5:30–7 pm (Courts 5-8)

These new sessions will appear on the pickleball court reservation schedule and will also be announced in Our Club Daily News.

Franklin Creek Closure on July 13

Pardon Our Progress...The Franklin Creek pool will be closed and breakfast service at The Deck will be suspended until approximately noon on Monday, July 13, while new pool heaters are installed. Because the heaters must be lifted by crane from the parking lot and over the pool, parking on the Franklin Creek campus will be limited during the morning.

Pickleball and tennis will remain open Monday morning, though members are encouraged to use golf carts if possible due to reduced parking availability.

We anticipate normal operations resuming around noon and apologize for the temporary inconvenience as we complete this important improvement.

2026 Men's & Women's President's Cup Match Play – August 21–23

Test your game against fellow members in one of our club's Match Play events! Open to all active Men & Women Golf Members, the President's Cup Match Play features handicap index-based flights of six players, with each competitor playing five 9-hole matches over three days on Palmetto, Deer Creek, and Oakridge.

Flight winners and runners-up will earn prizes, while each flight champion advances to Sunday's shootout for a chance to be crowned the 2026 Men's or Women's President's Cup Champion. Your $100 entry fee includes beverages all weekend, a Sunday cookout, flight prizes, and shootout entry.

Registration is now open and closes at 8 pm on Sunday, August 16. Space is limited, so sign up early and compete for President's Cup glory!

Rocking on The Ridge
Join us on July 3 from 5–7 pm for Rocking on The Ridge, an evening of live music, fun competition, and great company. Enjoy a live performance by Elli Perry while soaking in the atmosphere, and sample refreshing beverages from Service Brewing with their representatives on site.

Golf members can register for the $30 ticketed event, which includes entry into multiple putting competitions with prizes, complimentary beer, wine, and canned beverages. Bring a lawn chair, relax, compete, and enjoy the music — making it a night everyone can enjoy on The Ridge.

As a Golf member you can bring non-Club member guests with you, their ticket fee will be charged to the member's account who registers them.

Join us on Saturday, July 4 beginning at 5 pm on the Deer Creek driving range as we celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th Anniversary! This year’s celebration will be bigger and better than ever with an unforgettable evening of delicious food, exciting attractions, live southern rock music, and a spectacular 250th Anniversary fireworks display.

Enjoy 11 food trucks, including the iconic Leopold’s Ice Cream, plus games, inflatables, obstacle courses, fair rides, waterslide, face painting, live music, and more fun for all ages. Swimsuits and towels are recommended for water activities.

All activities require a wristband and a waiver signed by a parent or guardian for guests under 18. The waiver booth will be located at the front of the driving range beside the large American flag display.

Event Highlights:

Food trucks will be open from 5 pm to 9 pm and will accept cash or credit card only (no member numbers).
Alcohol tents will accept both member numbers and credit cards, with member pricing available.
Third Party Thieves will perform live from 5 pm to 9 pm, followed by a DJ during the fireworks display.
Family activities will close at sunset for safety before fireworks begin.
Fireworks will begin between 9 pm and 9:20 pm.
Royal Restrooms will be available near the clubhouse. Deer Creek Clubhouse will remain closed during the event.
Arriving by golf cart is strongly encouraged, though carts are not permitted on the driving range.
Security officers will assist with on-street parking.
Tents, chairs, and personal items may not be placed at the top front of the range, as this area is reserved for rides and family activities. Any items placed there prior to the event will be removed by the setup team.

Tune-Up Tuesday

Join us every Tuesday at the Golf Performance Center for Tune-Up Tuesday, a quick and valuable opportunity to meet with our Club Fitting Professional, Kraig Brandt. This is a 5–10 minute equipment assessment using Trackman data to verify specs, optimize performance, and ensure your clubs are dialed—no lesson, no overhaul.

As we reach the 3rd quarter of the year, summer is upon us and some of our regular players have left town for the summer. This, coupled with the fact that we are functioning with 12 total courts, has presented the opportunity to revive contracts for Q3!!!

We will be able to proceed with contract requests with one amendment to the process:

If there are more courts requested at a given day/time slot than courts available, no contracts will be awarded for that time slot on that day.
Courts for that day and time will remain in the “7-day advance booking” process as is currently in place.
With that in mind, please remember to be realistic about your group’s court needs this summer. Requesting a standing reservation for the absolute maximum number of courts you may need could result in an overflow of requests, nullifying the availability of contracts at that day/time.
Any additional courts that are not contracted out will always be available for 7-day advance bookings.
As a reminder: the settings in the Northstar reservation platform that act as guardrails to prevent multiple bookings do not function as advertised. Northstar is aware of the problem and it is in the works with their development team to resolve the problem and repair the code.
- This means the honor system is necessary to ensure each member is booking in a respectful manner for their fellow members and following the agreed upon guidelines:
  - 2 reservations per member at any given time slot for at-once booking

Magnolia Course Reopening Update

Significant progress has been made on the Magnolia Golf Course over the past several weeks as we look forward to reopening the course on Friday, June 19. During the closure, extensive work was completed throughout the course as part of both our annual agronomic program and greens surrounds renovation work completed on eight holes.

Aerification was completed successfully, with every area of the course receiving attention as part of this important annual maintenance process. The greens underwent multiple verti-cuttings, core aerification, and a DryJect application to maximize organic matter dilution while creating new sand channels that improve air and water movement throughout the soil profile. As the course reopens, it is important to note that putting surfaces may be slightly bumpy, and green speeds may not initially meet our normal standards. This is a temporary and expected part of the recovery process following this level of cultivation and disruption.

In addition to the agronomic work, the Duininck Golf team and Brandon Johnson were onsite completing enhancements across eight holes. As previously communicated, our primary objective was to improve playability around several green surrounds, particularly on the front nine while softening certain contours. In several of these areas, steep slopes created challenges for our Agronomy team, often resulting in scalping and inconsistent mowing quality.

While the enhancements may appear subtle, we believe they have successfully achieved our vision of creating more playable, maintainable, and visually appealing green surrounds. We are excited for members to experience these improvements and enjoy the refreshed look of the Magnolia Course.

As with any renovation project, the newly installed sod will require time to establish, typically three to five weeks depending on weather and growing conditions. To protect these areas and ensure successful establishment, many of the renovated surrounds will be marked as Ground Under Repair (GUR) upon reopening. Utilizing the designated GUR relief options during the establishment process is an important step in protecting your clubs golf course assets.

Elsewhere on the course, the fairway transition from winter ryegrass continues to progress well and will only improve as temperatures rise and growing conditions remain favorable. In addition, all bunkers received 1–2 inches of new sand, significantly improving consistency and playability throughout the course. Our cart path improvement project also remains underway, with the concrete team continuing to replace damaged panels. While the course will reopen for play, cart path repairs will continue in select locations, and traffic may be redirected as needed to accommodate ongoing work.

We appreciate your patience and support throughout this closure and look forward to welcoming everyone back to an improved Magnolia Golf Course, be on the lookout for additional communication next week as we get closer to Magnolia reopening.
